Michael Burns, Associate Consultant
Michael is a consultant with almost 20 years experience in Housing and Regeneration. He is highly experienced in undertaking community research, business planning, partnership facilitation, and project evaluation work. He has a strong understanding of, and interest in, the links between Community Planning, affordable housing, and the wider role of housing associations in community regeneration. He also brings extensive experience in the fields of community learning and development, vocational training, employment, and inclusion.
Prior to entering consultancy he was Senior Manager with one of the largest community-based regeneration organisations in the West of Scotland, and before that held positions with East Ayrshire Council and Strathclyde Regional Council. He is a longstanding director of Loretto Housing Association, an Associate Lecturer to the Open University, and a former Transatlantic Fellow with the Churchill Foundation. He holds qualifications from the Open University and the Universities of Strathclyde, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
