Dr Iain Jenkins, Director
Dr Iain Jenkins is a professional economist with over 25 years’ academic and consultancy experience. He has worked for a wide array of clients, ranging from multi-national agencies such as the World Bank and the European Commission, through UK and Scottish Government Departments and enterprise agencies, to regional and locally-based organisations. A strategy development, and appraisal, monitoring and evaluation specialist, he has been responsible for in excess of 500 studies involving the development and/or evaluation of large-scale strategies and funding programmes or individual projects in the areas of new business start-up, business growth, mobile investment, exporting, research and development and innovation, commercialisation, skills training and place development . He also has specific technical skills in the thematic areas of cost benefit analysis, economic impact assessment and valuation techniques.
A founding director of EKOS, Iain worked previously in consultancy with various companies and at the Fraser of Allander Institute at Strathclyde University where he was an ESRC sponsored Research Fellow. He is also a director of Strathclyde European Partnership.
