Alistair McNeill, Associate Consultant
Alistair McNeill is a highly experienced consultant who has advised community groups, voluntary organisations, and social enterprises for almost 30 years. He has specialist expertise in: social enterprise start-up; business planning; preparing constitutions; management training and board development; public contracting, fundraising, and income generation; asset transfer; and financial modelling and planning. His main area of interest is in establishing and sustaining organisations that balance business and social objectives. He has particular experience of developing social economy organisations in the fields of childcare, advice, recycling, disability, health, and youth services.
Alistair has a strong track record that spans three decades. He was at the forefront of the community business movement in Scotland in the early 1980’s, and has since then worked as a social enterprise advisor with Strathclyde Regional Council, Community Business Central, and Community Enterprise in Strathclyde (CEiS). He is also former director of the Coach House Trust, a leading charity in the field of mental health. He holds qualifications in Business Management and Industrial Relations, and is a Member of the Institute of Personnel & Development.
