Local and Regional Economic Strategies
EKOS has wide experience of translating policy direction into focussed and deliverable plans. Our work in this area has covered all aspects of economic development from local area regeneration plans to wider regional economic development strategies, and includes sector specific and thematic plans in areas such as inward investment, innovation, regeneration and key sectors.
Service Review and Redesign
Performance management is an increasingly important tool in driving service improvement and bringing better service outcomes. We work with public bodies to help develop and form achievable improvement, action, and service plans; improve the specification, targeting and measurement of outcomes; and ultimately to help clients make better service delivery decisions.
Policy Development
In a world where needs and opportunities change quickly, organisations have to respond at an appropriate pace. The recent recession and the subsequent restructuring of the fiscal deficit has meant that new and more effective responses are needed to address the consequences of these changes. EKOS works with clients to develop and evolve new programmes and initiatives that respond to evolving needs and opportunities.
Cluster and Industry Policy
EKOS works with an international base of clients to identify key sectors and bring together the elements needed to build and develop strong clusters. We provide research and consultancy support across a range of key industries, including tourism, financial services, life sciences, food and drink, and energy.
With our clients we help analyse key strengths in a region through economic baselines, as well as helping to develop clear approaches to supporting the growth and development of key industries.
Collaboration, new forms of innovation, and understanding the development of trust are core to these programmes, and as such we also bring an understanding of the qualitative analysis required, including the complex nature of evaluating the growth of social capital.
