Project and Programme Evaluation
Evaluation of projects and programmes involves retrospective analysis to assess the success or otherwise against objectives and targets. It also requires review of past actions to identify key lessons and recommendations for future activity. Over the past five years EKOS has undertaken over 300 project and programme evaluations. We were members of the consortium that undertook the major RDA evaluation exercise in 2008/9. All of our evaluations are consistent with guidance from the Impact Evaluation Framework (and IEF+), HMT Green Book, and European Commission.
Project or Programme Review
As well as the more formal evaluation approach, there is often a need for “light touch” reviews of projects and programmes, usually to confirm activity remains on course and is likely to achieve objectives and targets. EKOS provides project and programme reviews in a cost effective manner, using rigorous investigatory techniques.
Appraisal and Evaluation Training
EKOS provides bespoke training on project evaluation to help clients and their partners understand the fundamentals of the evaluation process, and to design robust evaluation frameworks. We have also developed guides and good practice tools for clients.
Monitoring Frameworks
We have considerable experience of developing and implementing monitoring frameworks that measure the progress of large and complex projects and programmes. We have been retained by a number of organisations to implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks on their behalf.
