Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
Enterprise and entrepreneurship drive economic growth in local, regional and national economies, and are broad concepts. They extend from developing an entrepreneurial culture among school children and the wider workforce, to supporting business start-up, business growth and inward investment.
We work with clients to develop strategies, and to design, appraise, and evaluate initiatives that support enterprising and entrepreneurial activity. Our work covers the wider economy as well as extending to a number of key sectors.
Our work in enterprise and entrepreneurship covers a broad spectrum, with particular focus on five key areas.
Business Start-up
We work with clients and partners to appraise, design and evaluate business start-up programmes. This work is particularly focussed on support to disadvantaged communities and under-represented groups, including women, BMEs, disabled and those living in areas of deprivation or the rural economy.
High Growth
Helping businesses with aspirations for growth is an essential part of the support package that many of our clients offer. We assist them to develop and evaluate support that will enable businesses to reach their full potential and deliver sustained growth in their economy.
Investment
Investment and access to finance are critical in encouraging new businesses to start-up and existing businesses to grow. We work with clients to develop access to finance products, from loan and grant funding to equity finance and specialist products.
Entrepreneurship Education
We work with clients who seek to empower young people and equip them with the skills needed to realise their potential through business and enterprise. We have conducted numerous evaluations of initiatives to encourage graduate enterprise and the development of enterprise skills among young people.

EKOS provides support services across a range of key industries, including the creative economy, energy, financial services, food and drink, life sciences, software and tourism and events. We can draw upon a wide network of associates and industry specialists who bring added value to our work.
