Learning and Skills
The development of people through learning and skill development is crucial both to national economic success and to achieving a more inclusive society. We work with a wide range of clients and partners to support the development and improvement of learning and skills initiatives across the UK.

Our work covers all aspects of the lifelong learning agenda, and we have specific expertise in the following areas:
Sector Skills Development
Our work has helped identify skills issues across a range of key sectors, including creative industries, financial services, food and drink, tourism and construction.
Leadership and Management Development
We have evaluated a wide range of leadership and management development programmes aimed at developing successful leaders across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
New Entrants to the Labour Market
We have been at the forefront of research into a wide range of programmes aimed at providing our young people with the work experience and skills required by today’s employers.
Community Based Learning
We develop community learning strategies and action plans and regularly appraise proposals aimed at encouraging marginalised groups to re-engage with learning.
Employability
We support local authorities and economic development agencies to establish their employability frameworks and strategies. We also assist community intermediary organisations, local regeneration agencies and voluntary organisations to design, develop and evaluate their activities.
Further and Higher Education
Our experience in further and higher education ranges from reviews of provision in colleges to funding reviews and evaluations of programmes to encourage collaboration between education and industry.
Examples of our recent work in this area can be found here. To find out more please e-mail Dr Graham Senior or telephone 0141 353 1994.
